Gimpo Airport Wheelchair Assistance: Rental, Porty Care, and Airline Checks

Arrange both the airport journey and the flight-boarding help you need before travelling to Gimpo. Gimpo’s airport assistance can help you move toward check-in, while you should confirm the aircraft boarding arrangement with your airline. A wheelchair rental alone does not tell you how every part of the journey will work.

Official Korea Airports Corporation pages checked: October 23, 2026 (KST). They do not display separate publication or effective dates. This guide uses Gimpo’s domestic-terminal information; confirm the appropriate terminal and flight-specific arrangements.

Ask for the help that matches your journey

The official Gimpo Porty Care service page describes an electric cart from the airport subway station to the check-in counter, wheelchair rental, and help moving in a wheelchair. It lists people with disabilities, older travellers, pregnant passengers, and passengers with infants or children among its users.

The direct service number is +82-2-2660-2478. The page also lists the KAC Customer Satisfaction Center at 1661-2626. Explain where you will arrive, the terminal, your flight time, and whether you can walk or transfer between seats.

Describe the actual support required: for example, “I need a wheelchair from the subway station to airline check-in.” If you need someone to push it, say so. If you are bringing your own mobility device, explain that separately rather than requesting a rental you do not need.

If you arrive without a reservation

Porty Care’s published instructions allow an on-site application at the domestic terminal’s first-floor information counter. Staff may be away assisting another passenger; the same page directs users to the contact numbers when nobody is immediately available.

Keep those numbers in your phone and share the meeting point with your travelling companion. If someone is coming to collect you, make sure you agree on a terminal, floor, and gate rather than simply “the airport entrance.” Allow time for assistance to be arranged.

Check the wheelchair-rental and terminal information

Gimpo’s official accessibility guide says rental wheelchairs can be requested at an information desk by presenting ID. For the domestic terminal, it lists desks in the centre of the general waiting rooms on Floors 1 and 2. Confirm the collection and return arrangement when requesting the chair.

Ask whether the same assistance continues to airline check-in or whether you need to meet another staff member. Keep your essential documents and medication accessible. A companion can manage bags while you speak to staff, but do not assume that luggage handling is included in the service.

Confirm the next stage with your airline

Contact the operating airline before the flight and explain what happens after check-in: security, gate access, moving onto the aircraft, and arrival assistance. Ask for a meeting point, the time to report, and any information required about your own wheelchair or other device.

If you are using an electric device, give the airline the device and battery details it requests. Do not treat this article as battery-transport approval. Keep the airline’s confirmation with the booking and review it if your flight or operating airline changes.

Keep a simple handover plan

  • Arrival point and terminal.
  • Airport-assistance contact and meeting place.
  • Airline-assistance confirmation and reporting instructions.
  • Who will manage your bags and any return of a rental chair.

For the subway portion before reaching Gimpo, the Seoul subway elevator planning guide helps you check a step-free approach. Confirm the airport and airline handovers separately so the route remains workable all the way to the flight.
