Dragging a large suitcase through Seoul Station, Busan Station, and a hotel check-in line can take more time than the train journey itself. Korea offers lockers, staffed storage counters, and same-day luggage delivery, but they are not interchangeable.
The simplest rule is this: use a locker when you will return to the same station; use forwarding when your trip continues in one direction. Then check the exact station, suitcase size, pickup deadline, and payment method before committing.

Do not confuse three different services
1. Lockers inside or near a railway station
KTX and regional railway stations may have coin or electronic lockers, but equipment, size, payment method, and operator vary by location. A locker in the Seoul Metro area is not automatically a Korail service simply because it is near the KTX concourse.
2. Seoul Metro T-Locker and T-Luggage
T-Locker is Seoul subway’s hourly storage network. The Seoul Metropolitan Government currently lists 5,557 lockers at 273 stations. T-Luggage is a separate staffed storage and same-day delivery service at selected subway stations such as Seoul Station, Hongik University, Jamsil, Suseo, Myeong-dong, Gimpo International Airport, and Jongno 3-ga.
As of the checked date, the official T-Locker page lists a four-hour weekday base rate of KRW 2,200 for small, KRW 3,300 for medium, and KRW 4,400 for large lockers. Weekend rates and hourly extensions are higher. The T-Locker app is Korean-only, and actual instructions can differ between newer and older lockers.
3. Station-to-hotel or hotel-to-station delivery
Operators such as ZimCarry move luggage between participating stations, airports, accommodations, and some lockers. Korail also places a luggage-delivery service inside the KorailTalk travel-service menu. This is a reservation and logistics service, not an unlimited nationwide baggage network.
The four questions that make the decision
Will you return to the same place?
If you are taking a day trip from Seoul and returning to Seoul Station, a locker is logical. If you are leaving Seoul and sleeping in Busan, returning to the original station simply to collect a bag defeats the purpose.
Can your suitcase fit?
Measure the suitcase including wheels and handles. Seoul’s official T-Locker dimensions are approximately 50 × 30 × 60 cm for small, 50 × 45 × 60 cm for medium, and 50 × 90 × 60 cm for large. A rigid 28-inch suitcase may need a large locker, but shape and handle position still matter.
Do not rely on “large” as a universal measurement. A locker operated by another station or company can use different dimensions.
Can you meet the forwarding cutoff?
ZimCarry’s current domestic-delivery page says luggage departing from one of its staffed stores can normally be handed over from opening time until 3 p.m. For departures from other locations, luggage generally must be left by 11 a.m. Deliveries then begin arriving sequentially later in the afternoon.
Those times are not a promise for every route. Store hours, hotel participation, service area, and local surcharges differ. Check the booking result for the exact origin and destination.
What happens if the plan fails?
A useful luggage plan includes a backup. Save the station’s staffed storage location, ask the hotel about pre-check-in storage, and keep essential medication, documents, electronics, and one change of clothing with you.
Scenario 1: A day trip from Seoul
Leave the main suitcase at your Seoul hotel when possible. Many hotels hold luggage before check-in or after check-out, but this is a courtesy rather than a universal right. Confirm the date and collection deadline with the front desk.
If hotel storage is unavailable, use a station locker near the route you will take on the return journey. Do not choose a locker across a large station complex merely because it was the first one you saw; note the line, exit, and concourse.
Scenario 2: Seoul to Busan with an afternoon check-in
Forwarding can remove the need to carry luggage through Busan before the hotel room is ready. Confirm that both the departure point and the actual hotel are supported. Some guesthouses, unmanned accommodations, and short-term rentals may not be eligible because there is no staffed reception to accept the bag.
Keep the reservation confirmation and photograph the luggage at handoff. Do not place passports, cash, fragile electronics, prescription medicine, or the only copy of an important document inside a forwarded suitcase.
Scenario 3: Seoul, Busan, and Gyeongju
Do not assume one company will forward the suitcase along every leg. A practical plan is to send the large case from a confirmed station to a confirmed hotel, then carry a small overnight bag on the segment without service.

Payment and language
Locker payment methods vary. Do not assume every machine accepts an overseas Visa or Mastercard, cash, or T-money. Seoul’s official page directs users of newer T-Lockers to the Korean-language app, while older units may use instructions posted on the locker.

- the only set of house or hotel keys.

Final recommendation
For a loop itinerary, choose a locker or hotel storage close to the place you will return. For a linear itinerary, forwarding is worth considering when both endpoints and the cutoff are confirmed. The best option is not the one with the lowest headline price; it is the one that avoids backtracking without creating a risk of missing your train or losing access to essential belongings.
Before leaving the bag, save the operator’s contact information, the collection deadline, and a photo of the locker number or handoff receipt.
