You can plan a Jeju ferry journey as a foot passenger, but confirm the vessel, terminal, original ID, and sailing status before travelling to the port. “Mokpo to Jeju” is not a complete boarding instruction: different vessels can use different terminals.
Scope: Sea World Express Ferry services from Mokpo or Jindo to Jeju. Official boarding and status pages checked October 18, 2026; no separate effective date is displayed. Other operators have their own procedures. This guide does not promise a sailing, fare, or available seat.
Identify the vessel and both terminals
Read the vessel name on your booking, then match it to the operator’s foot-passenger boarding instructions. That page distinguishes vessel-specific departure points, including Samhak Pier and the international passenger terminal in Mokpo, and different terminal arrangements in Jeju.
Save the full Korean terminal name and street address. Give that destination to your taxi driver or use it for your public-transport route. A pin for the city’s general port can leave you at the wrong building. Recheck the return journey independently rather than assuming you return to the same terminal.
If the operator changes your vessel, ask whether your terminal changes too. Check any message against the booking reference, travel date, direction, and passenger name before setting off.
Bring original ID for everyone
The boarding guide requires the reservation name or number, identification, and individual contact information for all travellers. It also requires ticket and ID checks during boarding. Its Santa Monica instructions explicitly reject photographed or captured ID and passports. Carry the original passport and confirm acceptable documents for children or unusual cases with the operator.
Keep the passport and booking reachable while moving with your bags. A mobile boarding pass may remove a ticket-issuance step for eligible passengers; it does not remove the identity check. If you have a ticketing question, resolve it before joining a boarding queue.
Use the current sailing status, not a sample timetable
Check Sea World’s official daily sailing-status page for your date, direction, and vessel. Read cancellation, inspection, or non-operation labels carefully. A sailing listed for the opposite direction does not establish that your booked departure is operating.
Check again before leaving your accommodation and follow the operator’s booking messages. If the display is unclear, use the operator’s published customer-service number, 1577-3567, with your vessel and reservation details. Ask whether the sailing or terminal has changed and when to arrive for ticketing and boarding. A final cutoff is a deadline, not an arrival target.
When disruption occurs, keep the operator’s message and request instructions for your booking. Do not assume a personal cancellation has the same conditions as an operator-cancelled sailing. Ask about alternatives and the applicable refund process before buying a replacement journey.
Plan the port-to-accommodation journey
- Check the expected arrival terminal on the actual booking.
- Choose an onward route that you can use with your luggage.
- Keep a taxi or later check-in alternative if arrival changes.
- Avoid an onward commitment that depends on an unverified arrival time.
The car-free Jeju route guide can help organise the island portion after arrival. For sightseeing after the ferry, the Korea Trip Planner offers a Jeju itinerary you can edit. Check the operator for actual sailings and keep the ferry booking and terminal information alongside your plan.
Before leaving for the port, have four things ready together: the correct vessel and terminal, the current sailing check, the issued booking or ticket, and original ID.
